Andrea Echeverri

As a singer, Andrea Echeverri Arias has been working in the music world since the early 90’s. Around that time, together with Hector Buitrago, she shaped the band known as Delia & Los Aminoacidos, in a raving night joint in the Barrio la Candelaria in Bogota. There she began a prolific and snaky musical blossoming that in 1993 was open with Aterciopelados, later on it would become the most emblematic Colombian rock band to date.

Her songs revolve around ancestral, environmental, and anti-war themes and Ruiseña, her third solo album, strengthened her image as a neo-feminist and anti-macho woman. As a potter, Andrea Echeverri Arias has participated in many major exhibitions, such as La Bienal de Arte de la Habana – Cuba (1994), La Bienal de arte del MAMBO en Bogota (1995), exposicion individual en el marco de la FIL, Cultural center Diana – Guadalajara – Mexico (2007), Retrospectiva Arte Moderno de Barranquilla Museum – Colombia (2008).
